Therapy Services

A thoughtful place to begin

At Kintsugi, therapy is grounded in the belief that healing happens through safety, trust, meaningful connection, and respect for each person’s unique story. We offer a compassionate, trauma-informed space for individuals who are navigating emotional challenges, relationship concerns, life transitions, stress, loss, or the lasting effects of difficult experiences.

Therapy is collaborative and individualized. Together, we will identify what feels most important to you, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools and insight that support greater clarity, resilience, and well-being.

What therapy can support

Therapy may be helpful for individuals who are experiencing:

  • Trauma-related stress or the impact of past adverse experiences

  • Anxiety, overwhelm, or emotional exhaustion

  • Depression, grief, or feelings of disconnection

  • Relationship patterns, communication challenges, or boundary concerns

  • Major life changes, caregiving stress, career transitions, or identity questions

  • A desire for greater self-awareness, confidence, self-compassion, or balance

  • The need for a supportive place to pause, reflect, and move forward

You do not need to have every answer before beginning. Therapy can be a place to start with what is present now.

Individual Therapy Sessions

Individual sessions offer dedicated time to focus on your needs, goals, and lived experience. Sessions are paced thoughtfully and may incorporate conversation, reflection, skill-building, grounding practices, and—when appropriate—experiential approaches that support awareness and connection.

My approach is relational, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. Rather than asking, “What is wrong with you?” we begin with a more compassionate question: “What has happened, what matters to you, and what support would be most helpful now?”

Each therapeutic relationship is unique. We will work together to determine an approach that feels appropriate, comfortable, and aligned with your goals.

Session format

Services may be offered in a format that is determined collaboratively based on your needs, clinical appropriateness, location, and availability. During an initial consultation, we can discuss:

  • Your reasons for seeking support

  • Your goals for therapy

  • Whether Kintsugi’s approach feels like a good fit

  • Available session formats and scheduling

  • Whether art based or equine-facilitated work may be an appropriate complement to traditional therapy

  • Fees, private-pay options, and referral need

Referrals and Consultation

Kintsugi welcomes referrals from therapists, physicians, schools, behavioral-health providers, community organizations, and other helping professionals. Referrals may be appropriate when a person could benefit from an individualized, trauma-informed therapeutic setting or when equine-facilitated work may complement an existing treatment plan.

When clinically appropriate and authorized by the client, we value communication and coordination with existing providers. Collaborative care can help ensure that services are aligned with the client’s goals, needs, and broader network of support.

Equine-Facilitated Therapy

For some clients, carefully structured interactions with horses can complement traditional talk therapy. Equine-facilitated work may support present-moment awareness, emotional regulation, confidence, communication, boundaries, and connection.

No prior horse experience is required. Sessions are individualized, trauma-informed, and focused on emotional and physical safety. Activities are generally ground-based and may include observing, grooming, leading, caring for, or engaging in structured exercises with horses.

Equine-facilitated services are not about riding ability or performance. They offer an opportunity to learn through relationship, experience, and reflection. Click here to sign up for the equine therapy waitlist. Program expected to begin 7/1/2027. Pricing will vary from regular office based therapy rates

Private-Pay Services

Kintsugi currently offers services on a private-pay basis. This approach allows for a more individualized and flexible therapeutic experience, without the constraints that can sometimes accompany insurance-based care.

Before scheduling, we will discuss fees, session length, payment expectations, cancellation policies, and whether services are appropriate for your needs. Clients are encouraged to contact their insurance provider directly if they wish to explore possible out-of-network reimbursement. Kintsugi cannot guarantee coverage or reimbursement.

Private-pay clients may seek therapy for focused short-term support, ongoing personal growth, trauma-informed care, life transitions, relationship patterns, or as a complement to other health and wellness services.

Fees and scheduling

Fees are shared before services begin. An initial consultation can help determine whether Kintsugi is the right fit and identify the most appropriate next step.
